Op de Archief 2.0 Ning community plaatste collega Luud een berichtje over een manifest voor de 2.0-archivaris. Het manifest is afkomstig van ArchivesNext, maar is een bewerking van een bibliotheekversie. Bij die laatste hoort zelfs een filmpje.

Genoeg links en zo..

In één woord: geweldig!! Met jullie als getuigen, beloof ik bij deze plechtig me aan alles te (zullen gaan) houden wat er in het manifest staat.. maar moet daar nog wel even aan werken. Er staan zo ontzettend veel goede punten in, waarvan het goed is om die zo nu en dan weer even op te halen.

En je kunt er ook vanalles mee doen. Een idee is om het manifest als kapstok te gebruiken, bijvoorbeeld voor een informele studiedag rond archief 2.0. Misschien moeten we een Nederlandse vertaling maken, voor de toegankelijkheid. (En nu ik dat typ.. weet ik eigenlijk al dat er dat van gaat komen natuurlijk!)

Als je de discussie op Ning volgt, zie je dat er misschien zelfs een combidagje in zit voor bieb'ers en archivarissen. De simpele vertaling van het manifest van een bieb- naar een archiefversie laat al wel zien dat onze professies héél dicht tegen elkaar aan schurken.

Nou, ik zal het manifest hier zelf niet meer herhalen.. maar je mag de vertaling hier binnenkort wel verwachten! Denk ik.. ;-)

On the Dutch Archive 2.0 Ning community, colleague Luud posted a message about An Archivist's 2.0 Manifesto. The manifest originates from ArchivesNext, but is in fact a revision of a library version. The latter one even comes with a movie.

Enough links and such..

In one word: terrific!! With you as my witnesses, I hereby solemnly declare to (will go) live up to all that the manifest says.. but I still have to do some work on that though. There are so many good points in it, of which are good to remember every once in a while.

And you can do all different kinds of things with it also. One idea is to use the manifest as a stepping-stone, for example for an informal conference around archive 2.0. Maybe we should make a translation in Dutch, for accessibility. (And while I'm typing this.. in fact I already know that this will happen, of course!)

When you follow the discussion on Ning, you notice that there even might be some sort of combined day for librarians and archivists. The easy way to translate the manifest from a library to an archivist version shows how close our two professions really are.

Well, I won't repeat the manifest here anymore myself.. but you may expect the translation here soon! I think.. ;-)
